2012 Merit Sides

In 2012 we have already had some Kiwi representatives being named this season in Ken Tofilau and Jeff Whittaker (Coach) for the Kiwis 16s Residents and Jules Webley and Tom Ball (Assistant Coach) for the Kiwis 18s Residents. And at last weekend’s CRL Junior Prizegiving for 2012, four more Halswell players were named in NZ Merit sides. Jules Webley was again named in a National representative side after a strong campaign for the South Island Scorpions in the National Competition, being named in the 2012 New Zealand Kiwis 17s Merit Side. Jules was the only player from the Scorpions to be named in the side. Three of the Halswell Hornets CRL Championship winning 16s were also named in the 2012 New Zealand Kiwis 15s Merit Side. Also having strong showings for their South Island team, middle-players Jordan PinnockCorey Austin and captain, Jak Fraser-Marshall were named in the team drawn from players participating in the National Competition. Each of these four players will receive a paid-for trip to Rotorua next Winter to participate in the 2013 NZRL Development Camp in which they hope to gather selection in the National 16s and 18s sides in 2013. We congratulate these players and wish them the best of luck in their Rugby League endeavours in 2013!!!
