Information for 2014 Hornets!

What a season 2013 was! However, now that it has been and gone, the HRFLC seeks to wish all of our Hornets and Supporters a very merry Xmas and the happiest of New Years. We hope that the holiday break will get the fire in your bellies burning bright for the 2014 season! We know that we are looking forward to it!

Just before you get into the festive spirit, we have some information about the 2014 season to keep you in the loop!

– Senior Pre-season will recommence from the 14th of January 2014, with any 17s, 19s and open grade players welcome to attend. ESPECIALLY new or returning Hornets, come down at get to know your teammates and clubmates! New players can contact Craig Sullivan (027 221 4242) or Naomi Faga (027 895 1345) for more information. So… 6.00pm, Tuesday, 14th January (and every Tuesday and Thursday after that). Be there!!

-Registration for Seniors can be done at Preseason Training , or if you are really keen – on our website. Just click the link on the home page, create a login, and you are away laughing!

-Junior registration, as per registration for the 2013 season, will be all online. So hit up our homepage, create a login (each family only needs one login) and get registered!! If you have any troubles, or cannot access the internet, we will have a registration day on Sunday, 2nd March 2014.

-Canterbury Rugby League has released their draft 2014 Calender, which puts the first Competition game for all teams on Saturday, 5th April 2014. This leaves the Premier Grand Final to be played on Sunday, 3rd August 2014, and Finals Day for all other grades on Saturday, 9th August 2014. Exciting! Check the CRL website for more information.

-Subs (nobody likes talking about subs, but they are very important for the support, development and growth of our Club, particularly when a large chunk of them goes to CRL)! For 2014 the subs will be as follows:

$120 for Senior (17s, 19s and Open Grade) Players;
$40 for Social Members; and
$60 for Junior (6s-15s ) Players, with additional players from the same family $40 thereafter.

-Subs are due by the first competition game (5th April 2014) for ALL players. This will be cracked down on in 2014, with NO players taking the field until subs are paid.

Be prepared with subs, you have plenty of time until the season kicks off – putting aside a little bit each week, goes a long way! :)

-On a more positive note, there are plenty of Rugby League Opportunities to look forward to in 2014, so get amongst it, get involved and enjoy yourself!! Once again, as always, everyone will be keeping their eyes on the Red, Black and Gold in 2014!

-Support our sponsors, if you look after them, they will look after you! Many of our fantastic sponsors are current or former players, so are always keen to hear how the Hornets are going! Our sponsors have lifted our club to what it is today, so we thank them!
