While he may be out for the Grand Final due to a season-ending back injury, Isu will be standing shoulder to shoulder with the boys come Grand Final day before they run out onto Rugby Park to take on the Panthers. Always a big influence in the side, we managed to catch up with the big lad after the last Thursday night training run! Hear what he had to say:

Nilamaneta Sitaiisu Fialele….hence why I just go by Isu haha

2. Where were you born?

Christchurch

3. What is your favourite place in New Zealand?

Christchurch of course, but for a holiday, Wanaka

4. What do you like to do to relax?

Watch DVDs or listen to music

5. What is your signature cooking/baking dish?

Any drive through….haha, um Breakfast – The Works!

6. What do you do for a job?

Operations Manager

7. What is the best compliment you have ever received?

Probably “a face only a mother could love” or “You have got good footwork for a prop!”

8. What is your favourite thing about Rugby League?

Game Day!!

9. If you weren’t playing Rugby League, what sport would you play?

Rugby Union or Lawn Bowls

10. Who introduced you to playing for the Hornets?

Brad McDonald (former Hornet)

11. How long have you been playing for the Hornets?

Since I was 17

12. How many years have you played Premiers?

Debuted when I was 17, but have been in and out with injuries since then [he must be getting old if he won’t say how many years]

Prop/Second Row

14. What position would you like to play?

Lock

15. Who is the “dark-horse” for the Hornets this season?

Well he is no longer the dark horse….its Rowan Swain!

16. Who do you think will win the Premiers Player of the Year award in 2013?

It’s a tough choice really, Jordan Kane, Jaye Pukepuke, Toi Sepuloni and Garry Hape have been consistent all year….but my choice would have to be Darryl “Hairbag” Hawker.

17. Who do you think will win the 2013 CRL Grand Final?

Halswell Hornets!!!!!!!!

18. Who will win the NRL in 2013?

My St George Illawara Dragons…..but most probably the Sydney Roosters

19. Who did you think would win State of Origin in 2013?

New South Wales

20. Who will win the 2013 Rugby League World Cup?

Toa Samoa

21. Final word, what piece of advice would you give to young Hornets who want to play Premiers one day?
