The Halswell Rugby Football League Club would like to congratulate our seven Halswell Hornets Premiers that made the 2013 Canterbury Bulls Premier training squad. This year the Bulls will be gearing up for the clash against Wellington Orcas on Queen’s Birthday Weekend to celebrate Canterbury RL’s centenary weekend!

The Hornets contingent is led by captain Toi Sepuloni, who has been in great form in the halves, and has taken the captaincy role in his stride as he leads the team around the park. His halves partner, Brad Austin, also makes an appearance in the squad after debuting for the South Island Scorpions Premiers in 2012. Jaye Pukepuke was a shoe in for the side given his destructive ball-playing is an additional asset to the monster Hornets pack! Garry Hape and Jordan Kane have also led the way for the Hornets forwards, the latter scoring some fantastic solo tries! Rounding off the Red, Black and Gold representatives are brothers Matt and Erwin Sauni. Erwin has continued his devastating 2012 form at fullback, while Matt has made the shift from the centres to the second row with incredible ease.

We bet that all seven of these guys will be working hard to be named in the final 17 to represent Canterbury against Wellington on the 2nd of May at AMI Stadium!!! Congratulation fellas, train hard and good luck!

Their first training is at Denton Oval on Wednesday 15 May 2013 at 6.00pm.
